Sunsquare do this with an extension that is almost completely made of glass, otherwise known as the ‘glass box’ design.

With the option of having Solar control glazing combined with our standard specification of laminated glass means that this stunning addition can be safe, energy efficient and can prevent the room over heating in the summer months.

The benefits of our glass boxes are extensive. As glass boxes enhance light, they can be a clever way of alleviating any concerns that neighbours and the planning authorities may have about blocking light in built up areas.

They can also be used as part of an extension. A good example of the this is the Rose Valley project. The owners of the property wanted to have access to the first floor of their home from their new extension, however the neighbours had concerns about the massing of a two storey extension. So, Sunsquare worked with the architects to find a solution that benefited both the customer and the neighbours. The outcome was a wall abutting glass box built around the stairwell.
