A big fall and
a big success!

As the most accredited company in the skylight industry, it is sometimes difficult to know what more one can do to prove that our products are the very best in the industry. The letter below is one of the most remarkable we have ever received.

To supply a product to someone who’s profession is quality control is a little daunting, but to then have that client test the product to beyond what would have been thought possible is something very special. Babs certainly put our walk on product through its paces and reminded us quite why we keep telling people that our walk on products are not cheap for a reason. I think we can all agree that the testing done by the BSI to award us the worlds first Kitemarked Skylight range, is nothing compare to dropping a skylight 3 meters and it still being in good enough condition to install. See below the wonderful email that we received from our customer:

“As a Quality Manager myself, used to getting my company’s products tested and Kite Marked, I feel compelled to give you further feedback about your company’s products as I am truly astonished at their robust qualities.

We wanted walk-on roof lights, but the floor level of the balcony (kitchen ceiling) is such that we had to lower the roof lights and affix them through the sides to the joists. The top surfaces of the windows now sit around 25mm above the floor of the balcony which will have composite deck boards laid all round to create a level walking area. We got the first window fitted okay, but I actually dropped the second one through the hole while we were trying to manoeuvre it – I was sure that an almost 3 meter drop would be the death of it, but it survived with just a few points of the underside of the outer frame distorted. We have checked it all over and it is fine – its now fitted.

I suspect we have inadvertently tested it somewhat more rigorously than BSI would have done to Kite Mark them in the first place!”
