We offer a range of different accessories at Sunsquare to help you enhance your newly-installed skylight and it can often be overwhelming to know which ones will work best for you. To help make this decision a little easier, we talk through the accessories we offer and what they could bring to your home below.

Upstand

An Upstand is a frame that a skylight sits on to create height from the roof surface and enough pitch for water to run off. They are an optional accessory but are highly recommended by us to ensure your new skylight sits and fits well. 

Remote Control

Our Remote Control is a perfect solution for skylights installed in awkward or hard to reach places as it allows them to be opened or closed without the requirement of a standard switch. It is also ideal for elderly or less able users who want to avoid getting up and down to use a touchscreen wall panel.

Heated Rain Sensor

Our Heated Rain Sensors triggers your skylight to close at the first sight of wet weather. This means you can leave your skylights open all day without the constant worry of a sudden downpour. The heated element of the sensor also evaporates any rain water or morning dew off the surface of your skylight to prevent water sitting on top of your window. 

Weather Pack

Our Weather Pack is the Heated Rain Sensor combined with a wind sensor that will protect your interiors by closing your skylight whenever unfavourable weather is detected at your property. You can team it with a Touchscreen Programmable Controller to fully automate the operation of your skylight with little or no input necessary. 

Touchscreen Programmable Controller

Our Touchscreen Programmable Controller allows you to automate the operation of your electric roof window. It includes an easy touchscreen interface and can be flush-mounted to an internal wall.

This programmable controller actively monitors the environmental conditions surrounding your skylight and reacts to changing conditions in line with your programming. You can instruct your skylights to open when a room becomes too humid, or close in the presence of high wind speeds. You can even programme your skylight to shut when rain below set temperatures is detected to avoid frost.

Smartsquare

Our Smartsquare is the world’s first smart skylight that allows you to fully integrate with other smart appliances and is easily linked to Siri, Amazon Alexa and Google Home. You can open and close your skylight from anywhere with the touch of a button on your Apple or Android smartphone. It can also be used to instruct your roof windows to open and close automatically based on weather conditions, humidity, inside temperature and even how close you are to the building.

There is no extra wiring needed to install our Smartsquare and it comes in a similar size to a regular UK light switch to be as unobtrusive as possible. It’s wifi-enabled, easy to install and will instantly elevate your skylight experience.

Battery Back-Up Panel

Our Battery Back-Up Panel provides a constant source of power to your roof at all times. This accessory charges the built-in battery from the normal 230V mains supply and only switches to ‘emergency mode’ in the event of a mains power loss. Your skylight will be capable of completing up to 35 cycles (open/close) while operating in this mode, and will revert back to normal to allow the battery to recharge once the mains power returns.
