    Aero Skylights –
    Manual or Electric?

arrow Back to blog 1st December 2014

When specifying and ordering your Sunsquare Aero skylight you will be offered the option of being supplied with a Manual or Electric opening system. This question is relevant whether you are looking to use your skylight purely for ventilation or for access.

There is one simple answer to this question and it relates to size.

Due to the inherent weight of glass, equivalent by volume to concrete, we operate a rule that all skylights with a total area of less than 1.5m2 can be supplied as either manual or electric, however, once this size limit has been crossed we will only offer you an electric option.

Sunsquare strictly operate this rule, as it is our core interest to offer our customers skylights that are easily operated by all. We would not be responsible designers if we were to offer rooflights and skylights that we know could not be regularly operated with ease and safety.

You may find that you are offered alternatives elsewhere that exceed our guidelines but we would request that you consider the weights involved before choosing to purchase these products…

With a Sunsquare skylight you will be safe in the knowledge that they’re designed to suit the application, offering advice to our customers where necessary, to provide a product that is user friendly and safe.

Lowest U-Values in the skylight industry
