    need to be replaced?

If you are in the process of redeveloping your property and you’d like to transform your flat roof and the interiors below with abundant levels of natural daylight, a flat roof skylight will almost certainly interest you.

If you are in the process of redeveloping your property and you’d like to transform your flat roof and the interiors below with abundant levels of natural daylight, a flat roof skylight will almost certainly interest you.

But you might be concerned that you’ll be investing in a product with a short lifespan, requiring significant funds to maintain, repair and, in the worst case scenario, replace.

This article is designed to allay those fears and demonstrate the durability and reliability of a Sunsquare rooflight to give residential and commercial properties an energy efficient, weather-proof product that adds tremendous value in terms of the environment below and to the property itself.

A faulty skylight is not just a nuisance to your home, it’s a hazard too. If moisture is able to seep through the cracks and into the structure of the roof itself, the structure is susceptible to rotting, paving the way for major structural damage to the entire property.

As the UK’s only flat roof skylight manufacturers to secure the BSI Kitemark for a rooflight, at Sunsquare we endeavour to make things as clear as possible to our clients; and that includes our warranties too.

    Framework

The frames of every single rooflight that leaves our manufacturing centre are protected by a 10-year warranty, ensuring structural integrity for an entire decade. Within the framework sits polyamide sections dividing all materials that sit across the internal and external parts of your building; maintaining insulation and the climatic control of your home.

    Glazed unit

The double and triple glazed units we fit into our extruded aluminium profile framework is also covered by a 25-year warranty. So in the unlikely event that a unit seal was to fail within the warranty period it will be replaced completely free of charge. One of the easiest ways to know if your sealed unit has failed is to check for the appearance of internal condensation or misting.

    Electrical components

If you opt to purchase an electric Sunsquare flat roof skylight you can be sure of an industry-leading warranty period for all electrical components. Whether it’s the motors, switches, rain and wind sensors or climate control packs, we offer a two year warranty on all electrical items. Most other UK skylight manufacturers will only provide a one-year guarantee which we believe gives customers the bare minimum protection; and you deserve much better than that.

    Upstands

While you’re entitled to install your Sunsquare flat roof skylight onto your own upstand, we recommend purchasing one of our own upstands manufactured in-house to ensure your rooflight fits and fits well. Each upstand is computer-calculated within our factory to ensure exact specification and accuracy for every individual project; whilst providing U-values of just 0.35 and zero condensation risk. Sunsquare upstands are protected by 35-year warranties, giving you peace of mind for the lifetime use of your skylight.

A flat rooflight can be a spectacular addition to any property; but if not properly installed they can not only compromise the energy efficiency of a building, they can cause costly structural damage, leaving you severely out of pocket.

Don’t compromise on build and installation quality; give our friendly sales team a call today to discuss your requirements with the UK’s only BSI Kitemarked flat roof skylight company.

Lowest U-Values in the skylight industry

U-values are touted by companies as a selling point for their products. Until now, all skylight U-values are calculated in exactly the same was as a vertical window, which gives a false reading and misleads the client.
