We are very pleased to announce that we have been awarded Secure By Design status on our SkyView, Pyramid, Aero Vent and Walk-On products which is a nationally recognised security standard, furthering our commitment to ensuring Sunsquare provides the highest quality possible.

Secure By Design is a police-backed standard which encourages manufacturers to make products as safe as possible – or as hard as possible for burglars to gain entry. The idea is to reduce crime through design. As a result of the Secured By Design initiative there has been a 87% reduction in burglary on new homes and there are more than 200 police specialists in the UK.

The definition from the Police states:
“Secured By Design focuses on crime prevention of homes and commercial premises and promotes the use of security standards for a wide range of applications and products. The principles have been proven to achieve a reduction of crime risk by up to 75%, by combining minimum standards of physical security and well-tested principles of natural surveillance and defensible space. Our objective is to reduce burglary and crime in the UK by designing out crime through physical security processes.”

We submitted the majority of our product range which were selected for extensive testing in a dedicated facility, and Sunsquare HQ was assessed to ensure that the products supplied were of the same high quality.
