The testing facilities for the British Standards Industry (BSI) Kitemark has received £3 million worth of investment in state-of-the-art technology and facility upgrades, taking the globally-recognised Kitemark firmly into the 21st Century and beyond.
Since 1954, the BSI’s Kitemark House has put thousands of products through its paces, testing them for safety and performance to the highest standards. Those that meet the stringent pass marks achieve the BSI Kitemark, which remains one of the most recognised consumer quality marks in the country.
Sunsquare has seen its weather facing product range undergo careful examination at the BSI labs for weather tightness, wind loading and air permeability. Subsequently, the Bury St Edmunds-based business achieved standards never seen before in the UK skylight industry, setting a new benchmark for competitors to follow across the globe.
BSI’s continued commitment to the future of the Kitemark and recognising the highest standards of product quality for consumers has seen an investment in new advanced testing facilities at its Hemel Hempstead headquarters.
Changes to standards and innovation in product design mean that the BSI’s labs have been developed to include new and improved tests to enable manufacturers to bring ground-breaking products to market as quickly as possible.
