Sunsquare’s biggest, most innovative stand to date drew in thousands of prospective clients at Grand Designs Live Birmingham 2014, who were wowed by the company’s range of BSI-accredited rooflights.
The only UK-based designer and manufacturer of skylights accredited to standard BS 635-1:2009, Sunsquare’s six product lines will again be demonstrated on their prominent stand in the Grand Build, Stand B225.
Justin Seldis, managing director, Sunsquare, said: “There’s no doubt that 2014 was a momentous year for Sunsquare. Our BSI accreditation helped position us as industry leaders, setting the standard for the quality and durability of skylights in the UK.
“Our new range of Pyramid skylights were by far the most popular product on show both in London and Birmingham. Their new 30-degree pitch makes them the most unobtrusive pyramid style rooflight on the market, so it’s no surprise they attracted so much attention.
“We’ve managed to secure an even more prominent exhibition stand in the Grand Build for May where we will be hoping to shout about yet another exciting feather in the cap for the company in terms of industry-leading safety and performance.”
Bespoke skylight competition winners
At both Grand Designs Live events last year, Sunsquare ran a competition where one lucky entrant could win a free bespoke skylight, designed, manufactured and installed by Sunsquare’s award-winning team.
The inaugural competition winner from Grand Designs Live London 2014 was Mr Colin Moore, who wanted the skylight as part of the final phase of the redevelopment of his family home in Kent.
Mr Moore said that winning the bespoke skylight competition had given him renewed motivation and inspiration to complete the project.
“The redesign of our home has taken many years and the chance to win a free skylight as a centrepiece of the side extension to our property has helped breathe new life into the project,” he said.
The flexibility of Sunsquare’s skylight options also enabled Mr Moore to change the original design of the revamped lean-to extension – opening up the dining room further due to the increased levels of natural daylight.
It was a similar story for the competition winners at Grand Designs Live Birmingham 2014.
Cheshire-based charity, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) were drawn out of the hat to receive a free bespoke skylight, which would provide a solution in its main catering kitchen area which cooks and prepares more than 90 meals a day for children visiting the site.
Its current limited ventilation makes the kitchen extremely uncomfortable to work in during the summer months especially when using the large industrial ovens and fryers.
Subsequently the charity is requesting an electronically-operated skylight to provide better ventilation with a more effective release of steam and moisture, as well as dramatically improved levels of natural daylight.
It’s our ability to make a difference to the lives our customers that drives Sunsquare on to continue to innovate and play a part in high-specification residential and commercial projects.
