With less than a fortnight until the Grand Designs bandwagon rolls into London’s Docklands, Grand Designs Live London 2016 has announced its latest feature – the Self Build Centre.
Throughout the course of the show, the Self Build Centre will play host to workshops and talks on a host of interesting building techniques geared to inform and inspire budding self-builders with their own home.
Every day of the show – which runs from 30th April to 8th May – there will be new build experts demonstrating their skills and giving hands-on workshops.
There will be a series of discussions hosted by The Centre for Alternative Technology, talking about eco-innovations, natural building materials and energy efficient housing.
Louisa Fletcher, Grand Designs Live’s TV property expert, will be talking about her top tips on purchasing land to build on as well as the self-build mortgage application process.
Additionally, there will be concrete-casting demonstrations from Havelock studio and cob house building techniques from Edwards and Eve Cob Building. Not to mention workshops on creating handmade bespoke furniture and carpentry and so much more.
