How to overcome the challenge of installing opening skylights so close to a wall.
Frith Street, Soho
Media production agency, Tapestry’s prominent office space situated in the heart of trendy Soho was in real need of refurbishment; and our Horizon Multi Pane walk-on skylights were perfect for creating a new, exciting social space for employees and clients alike.
As with any home extension, ensuring natural light in the right living areas is always a challenge, but in this particular case at The Paddocks in Cambridgeshire, our elongated Pyramid flat roof skylights were the perfect solution.
For the vast majority of building projects, it’s a challenge in itself to provide a stunning feature with timeless aesthetics. But at Rose Valley we not only provided our SkyView flat rooflights but installed a bespoke glass box with industry leading energy performance and much-needed privacy at the request of the client.
THE LONG HOUSE, WINCHESTER
Sunsquare are extremely proud to have been a part of this RIBA award nominated project.
Dan Brill Architects designed a superb extension to an existing house that incorporated a great deal of natural light, supplied by Sunsquare skylights. A very large multipane SkyView was really the show stopper, but there were other Sunsquare products on view as well.
LONDON & SURREY
Sunsquare is privileged to have supplied and installed skylights in many prestigious projects for Green County Developments.
Green County Developments (GCD) offer a complete design, contract and build service, and have completed some of London and Surrey’s most stunning developments since 1999.
Sunsquare was appointed by architects, Brown and Scarlett, to design and manufacture two skylights to be fitted above Mr Crepy’s kitchen; improving levels of natural daylight for home cooking and professional demonstrations.
Our SkyView model was chosen from our extensive product range for its ability to provide maximum light with the minimum of effort.
Sunsquare’s bespoke SkyView skylight created a bright contemporary finish at the beautiful seven bedroomed Chestnut Lodge.
Having seen the company’s vast selection of skylights at Grand Designs Live in London, the owner of Chestnut Lodge, nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside, chose Sunsquare to provide a bespoke SkyView skylight.
One of London's leading building contractors featuring Sunsquare products.
Sunsquare and 4C Developments have been working together for some years now. They are superb contractors and regularly feature Sunsquare products in their work. Sunsquare are very proud indeed to have such a solid and productive relationship with 4C and look forward to many more years working together.
The industry leading Aero Electric rooflight is the only skylight of its sort in the market. This skylight was 3780mm in length, which is something only Sunsquare could achieve. The Skylight also has a rain sensor and is operated by remote control for ultimate peace of mind.
A mixture of external and internal shots of completed Sunsquare skylight projects.
This selection of pyramid, walk-on and SkyView skylights underline the quality, cutting-edge finish we aim to provide each and every customer.
Sunsquare designed and manufactured four fixed Pyramid Skylights to provide natural daylight into the teaching areas, and one Aero Access skylight that can be partially open for ventilation and fully for access.
All skylights are manufactured from our standard aluminium extruded profile, so the units are 100% thermally broken and dual colour to slate grey externally and white internally.
Sunsquare manufactured two SkyView fixed skylights, and because they were being installed onto pre-installed and weathered flat upstands, we were also asked to provide a fully insulated “upstand adapter”, to create a 5° fall, for water run off.
Sunsquare carefully dismantled and removed the existing lantern-style skylights and fixed our minimal insulated upstand adapter piece to the top of the existing flat, asphalted upstands. These were then weathered with code 4 lead to ensure longevity and our SkyView skylights, each measuring 1200 x 3000mm (internal opening size), were installed creating the contemporary look the client desired.
Sunsquare were contacted by a client that had been promised a difficult bespoke skylight installation by one of the "leading" companies in the industry. Unfortunately they were let down and whilst the rest of the build had completed, the client had no skylight over their brand new kitchen.
Sunquare went to site, took measurements and within 2 weeks had designed, manufactured and installed a completely bespoke, extremely difficult rhombus skylight to the exact specification of the client.
We are regularly challenged to provide modern solutions to revolutionise living areas and add value to our clients’ properties.
