A little (glass) box of tricks Rose Valley

For the vast majority of building projects, it’s a challenge in itself to provide a stunning feature with timeless aesthetics. But at Rose Valley we not only provided our SkyView flat rooflights but installed a bespoke glass box with industry leading energy performance and much-needed privacy at the request of the client.

We were specified for the Rose Valley project by Spatial Design Architects, who specialise in a contemporary, sustainable and hybrid architecture for proposed or existing environments; in urban, suburban and countryside locations.

We discussed Rose Valley’s single-storey extension with the property owner’s architect, Nigel Robins of Spatial Design Architects about why a Sunsquare skylight was specified for their home.

What made you consider a skylight for this property?

“There was a need to provide a link between the living areas on the first floor and those on the ground floor; but without extending the single storey extension into two storeys.The glass box designed, manufactured and installed by Sunsquare provided the perfect solution, and having obscure glass on the sides ensured that the light could flood in but not at the cost of privacy.”
