We were asked recently to quote for a replacement skylight on a flat roof in a delightful town house in Suffolk. The wooden skylight that had been in situ for a few years was condensating and leaking and needed completely replacing. The client had a roofer lined up, so a new upstand was sent, the felt roof adjusted and a new 3 pane multi-pane was fitted by our team in a morning. The result is much more light, warmth and a much better looking skylight. We are asked to replace a great many older style skylights for the reasons mentioned, but clients are worried about the mess of doing the replacement work.
You can see from the photos that once the plasterboard is removed and skylight replaced, the Décorstop that was designed by Sunsquare allows a very easy finish after the skylight has been replaced. The plasterboard fits directly into our frame, leaving a perfect finish and view from inside. We are often asked how intrusive the mullion bar will be on a multi-pane skylight. The answer is that the 50mm mullion is slim and unobtrusive. We can offer glass to glass joints as well as glass mullions too.
If you’ve got a skylight in need of a replacement, we’d be happy to help. Why not contact our sales team on sales@sunsquare.co.uk or call our friendly team on 01284 844669
