Modern skylights meet Victorian period charm

We were delighted to work with Lambert & Sons on this period property in South West London.

With a desire to incorporate as much natural light as possible into this wonderful Victorian terrace, Sunsquare were tasked with replacing a dated conservatory with an elegant and bright solution.

Whilst maintaining a solid roof structure, Sunsquare installed 4 SkyView Multi Pane windows that opened up the living area and invited in plenty of natural light creating a beautiful bright space.

Due to the large amount of glass (over 30 square metres), solar gain was a concern, so the specification included SN70/35 glazing. This provides excellent performance in all seasons thanks to Sunsquare’s thermally efficient broken frame, which ensures that the room remains warm in the winter, and is well protected from over-heating in the summer.

Sunsquare’s standard specification includes laminated glass that cuts out 99.9% of the suns harmful rays, which helps reduce the fading of the internal finishes within the house. Another huge benefit of using laminated glass is that it’s very robust and it’s incredibly safe as it’s almost impossible to break, meaning that you are protected from any break-ins as well as no risk of being injured by shards of glass.

The client was thrilled with the end result, which was an exceptional modern addition to this beautiful period home.
