Our design brief for this stylish three-storey property was to provide a rooflight that, when open, would provide a completely clear opening above the staircase below that was not visually obstructed by framework.

A bespoke electric sliding rooflight

Our design team proposed an electronically-operated rooflight that would close into the recess in the wall and would retract into a pocket covered with a planted area when opened; making the most of the roof terrace’s valuable outside space.

The sliding roof window operates silently at the touch of a button at the foot of the stairs and can either open fully for access or partially for plentiful ventilation. The maximum amount of natural light floods into the top floor of the property all year round, providing the ultimate feature of this stunning living space.

Moving fast
 

We became involved in this project at the later stages of the build program as the builder and designer had been let down by another company.
